tbs Services, Inc was selected to provide Building Envelope Consulting for the renovations and addition to Drexel University’s Korman Center, working in concert with the Architect of Record, Gluckman Tang.
The Korman Center project added student common space while simultaneously updating the building’s appearance to integrate with the surrounding campus buildings more harmoniously.
The project included exterior masonry repairs, replacement of exterior stone panel cladding, and glazing replacement on three elevations.
Prior to preparing the construction drawings and specifications, TBS reviewed the original 1957 construction documents and performed an existing conditions survey of the facility with respect to the replacement of the perimeter glazing and cladding systems.
TBS provided Construction Contract Administration services which included shop drawing review, site visits to observe that work was being performed in accordance with the contract documents, and the issuance of field reports to document on-site observations.
