tbs Services, Inc provided Building Envelope Consultancy for the renovation and restoration of this historically significant Amtrak station, which remained in continual use throughout the project.
Designed by the renowned architects Frank Furness and Allen Evans, the station was completed in 1908 and includes a ticketing area located beneath the tracks featuring exposed steel beams studded with rivets.
Our services included a forensic investigation of the track beds, and platforms above the building/station, to identify the cause of the significant water infiltration.
We followed through with the design and documentation of the associated remedial work, which included a state-of-the-art waterproofing system at the train track beds and platforms, over the station concourse.
Serving architects, owners, managers, and contractors with enclosure system solutions since 1996
