Gore-Smith Overpass, completed in 1998, bridged South College Avenue, a main artery through the campus, to connect two classroom buildings, Smith Hall and Gore Hall.  Over its life the aluminum cladding of the structure was staining in excess of the acceptable aesthetic.

The University attempted to clean the surface with varying results. The staining continued to recur after cleaning.

TBS Services was engaged to assess the existing conditions and prepare the documentation to illustrate the necessary work associated with the exterior metal renovations/refinishing of Gore-Smith Overpass. The scope of our services included the assessment of the brick exterior at the ends of the structure, limestone water tables, copper roof, built-in copper gutters, fixed glazing, exterior sealants and the anodized aluminum cladding. TBS documented the required remedial work to refinish the aluminum cladding and remove and replace the exterior sealants within the cladding.
