When surveyed under the City of Philadelphia Façade Inspection Ordinance, significant deficiencies were discovered in the 1989 LeBow Engineering Center exterior, located in the heart of Drexel University’s campus. TBS was selected to provide a full range of design and documentation services, as well as services during the execution of the required façade restoration work.
Prior to preparing the necessary documentation, TBS reviewed the 2017 Façade Inspection Report, along with the available existing architectural and engineering documents.
An existing conditions survey of the facility was conducted, as well as forensic investigation and selective demolition, prior to TBS providing Design and Construction Documentation Phase services.
Construction Contract Administration services were provided by TBS, which included shop drawing review, site visits to observe that work was being performed in accordance with the contract documents, and the issuance of field reports to document on-site observations.
