Water Infiltration Remediation
Client:

University of Delaware

Location:

Newark, DE

Year Complete:

2009

The University was experiencing water infiltration at the Practice Rooms at the Ground Floor of the Amy E. DuPont Music Building. The source of the water infiltration appeared to be located at the Plaza at the West Entrance to the building.

The conditions of any below-grade waterproofing at the Plaza, and at the West Entrance was uncertain and was thought to be contributing to the water infiltration at the Practice Rooms directly below.

TBS Services, Inc. was engaged to provide the professional services required to survey, design, and document renovations to the existing West Plaza at the Amy E. DuPont Music Building. As part of the investigation TBS performed forensic demolition of the existing materials at the base of the West Entrance and west wall to determine the as-built construction of the wall systems.

Based on the information gathered through the forensic investigation, TBS documented the necessary remedial work associated with the installation of new below grade waterproofing at the west wall below the Entrance as well as the removal and replacement of the existing paving system at the Plaza and walk adjacent to the Plaza.
