The HELIX NJ project is rising in downtown New Brunswick, adjacent to the Amtrak station, and Rutgers University. The project represents New Jersey’s largest single investment in life sciences and medical education, paving the way for a new global innovation district.

The first phase of this three-part project is H1, a 12-story tower to house the Rutgers Translational Research Facility, the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, and the New Jersey Innovation Hub.

TBS Services was engaged as the Building Envelope Commissioning Agent to verify the commissioned systems, materials, and assemblies meet the performance and operational requirements in accordance with the owner’s project requirements, the basis of design, and the construction documents. TBS Services participated in the preconstruction and construction phase, performing 25 site visits including on-site mock-ups and field testing to oversee and coordinate the traditionally separate functions of envelope design, assembly fabrication review, monitoring, inspection and testing; system construction and performance verification; system handover documentation, facilities operations, and maintenance training.
